The Freedom Dressage Saddle

Single Flap - The single flap allows the rider greater feel and contact with the whole leg on the horse which results in the use of lighter aids, a better seat and a more subtle communication between horse and rider.

Extra-deep extreme-forward cantle - This new design supports the riders lower back and places the pelvis and femur in the correct position effortlessly. The result is the elimination of small tensions in the rider that may be blocking the horses movement, more effective aids and seat as well as reduced lower back pain.

Very wide gullet - The wide gullet allows the rider close contact with the horses back and eliminates any possible interference of the panels with the horses spine or dorsal ligaments. As a result the horse will be able to perform in greater comfort with increased freedom of movement.

Double V Billeting System - This newly developed billeting system relieves any pressure of the saddle on the horses tricep muscle and provides more consistent pressure along the panels and the horses back. The double V billeting system free's the horses shoulder and allows for greater range of motion in the fore-limb while sitting more quietly on the horses back encouraging engagement of the hind quarters and lifting of the back.

Mono Flap -This single flap designed with the long outer thigh block allows the rider to have even more leg contact and support. This design also gives the saddle an even narrower twist which allows the women's leg to sit closer and quiet to the horses side.

This saddle is designed for the optimal shoulder freedom with a very long tree point and a double V girthing system taking all the pressur of the saddle and rider off of the horse's shoulder, allowing optimal shoulder rotation for the largest gaiting front legs of the horse. And with the extra-wide gullet channel keeping all of the unwanted pressure off the horse's back ligament, the horse's back stays strong for larger movement. The wide weight-bearing panel distributse the weight on the horse's back for comfort and stability.

Danny has used his expertise to design saddles for para-equestrian riders with special needs, many examples below.
July 27, 2007 --- The Canadian Para-Equestrian Team placed 11 out of 34 nations competing at the 2007 Para-Equestrian Dressage World Championships, held July 18-22 at Hartpury College, UK. The Canadian Team had four riders riding in DK Saddles designed by Danny Kroetch.

On May 31st you have brought me my new saddle. I would like to let you know that the saddle is perfect ! Just like you said to me: "You're gonna love it". First I had to get used to it, but now I feel safe and confident when I am riding my horse. My horse also loves it. She feels comfortable and is moving in a different way. We have made great progress the last few weeks. Thanks very much for designing this saddle for me.

I would like to inform you about my progress since I’m riding with the saddle you designed for me. Nothing but positive experiences. First, the saddle is safe, which was important because in the past I lost my balance and tumbled off. The straps with which my legs are fixedhave been loosened. Everything works in that respect. Second the goal I set myself to be able to gallop again (despite my disability) was achieved 2 weeks ago. You promised me, that I would love the saddle. I tell you indeed I love it and you can imagine that I am over the moon !!

The DK girth is truly beautiful!
It is custom crafted and made from the finest top leather and top quality materials which means easy to clean and lasts for decades.
It is constructed with elastic on both sides which is imperative for horses breathing and comfort while performing as well as saddle stability. It has a 7” sternum support, and the ergonomic design is for ultimate front end mobility.
There are leather flaps with velcro to cover buckles for a smooth clean look.
The DK girth was chosen as best girth when tested against 29 others in a study done by the University in Holland.
It comes in Black or Brown and in 2” increments from 18” - 38” so able to fit all size and shape of horses.
